Jazz Fest 2025

I was able to go to Jazz Fest in New Orleans for the first time in April 2025. The festival can be overload with bands to see but you have to fine tune your acts and make a plan so that you don’t miss too much. The first day is a Thursday and it is “locals” day and the highlight was seeing John Fogerty, but no photos were taken on Thursday, I was getting a lay of the land of what can be done and what couldn’t. Day’s 2 and 3 I had my camera and here are some of the better shots of Jazz Fest 2025.

There were some things that I did not expect to happen at Jazz Fest. One item was that they had sign language interpreters for the deaf at some of the stages. The interpreters only did two songs then they swapped out with a second and back and forth they went for the entire show. I have a photo of one such interpreter who really liked the music and it shows in her efforts. Another thing I did not expect was the various types of bands and costumes of the bands. Some had whatever they were wearing when they got up and some had coordinated costumes. The various ages of the artists was amazing. I saw a 93 year old sax player for Preservation Hall being a bad ass. There was an artist who could hardly talk due to stroke and heart attack but he was still getting it out there playing. Lastly, the artists themselves liked to watch some of the bigger acts who were playing after them. It was cool to see all of the previous performers watching the acts.

P.S. I hope the ladies of School House Rock enjoy their photo and also the two ladies with cool new shades.
